Volunteer for us!

Volunteering is a wonderful way to contribute to your community, learn new skills, and create meaningful connections.

As a small charity, we love to welcome volunteers to help us run our activities. From running Hear2Help community sessions to getting stuck into chocolate making and climbing, our volunteers make a real difference to our activities and to the deaf children & adults we work with.

Perhaps you have a hearing loss yourself, maybe you're retired with some spare time to help out in your local community, or you might be a young person looking for some experience for your CV, University or job application...there are many reasons why people choose to offer their time and skills to make a difference.

According to a recent national survey of volunteers, enjoyment is one of the main benefits of volunteering, along with improved mental health and well-being. People love the feeling of being part of something and making a difference to someone else's life. There's also the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people!

Lots of people are understandably worried about the time involved but we encourage people to volunteer anything from a couple of Saturday afternoons a year to a 2 hour session once a month (or more if you want to!).

Just get in touch and we can chat about what you're interested in doing You can even come along to an event to see if it's right for you before taking it any further.

Hear2Help volunteer

Every month we run 8 busy Hear2Help clinics across Nottinghamshire. Each one takes place in a local community venue and lasts about 2 hours. Hear2Help clinics provide troubleshooting advice and support for NHS hearing aids.

We are looking for friendly volunteers to welcome visitors to the drop-in session, manage the waiting list and provide our team with the key information and and equipment to keep things running smoothly.

Experience with hearing aids is great but not essential as we will provide appropriate training.

Ideally we would like our volunteers to support at least 1 clinic a month for a year.

We really value our volunteers and our Volunteering Policy can be found here.

Kids Activity Volunteer

We run fun social activities for deaf kids and teens each half term. Whether it's indoor climbing, chocolate making or playing footgolf, our aim is to bring young deaf people together to make friends, build confidence and create community.

We would love to welcome more volunteers to support our kids activities. Experience of working with children, of deafness or BSL are great, but not essential...just  enthusiasm, energy and a willingness to get involved!

Please get in touch if you think this might interest you.

You will need to be over 18 years old and able to travel to events. As the role involves working with children, we will carry out DBS checks and may ask for a reference.

We really value our volunteers and our Volunteering Policy can be found here.
