On Saturday, eighteen of our young D/deaf people joined Hear Together for the 10 Pin Bowling event in Nottingham. For me personally, this was my first official event in my new role with Hear Together. It was wonderful to meet so many parents and young people who are regular Hear Together attendees, and fantastic to see that we had new mums, dads and kids joining us too!
Everyone got stuck in with the Bowling and had great fun! There were strikes, cheering and lots of smiles all round! The young people had chance to meet old buddies and make new friends. It was wonderful to see siblings joining us too, making Hear Together really feel like one big family! The meal also seemed to be a big hit as it didn't last long before everyone was back on the bowling lanes to finish the games.
Don't forget that our next event will be chocolate making on the 18th November – further details to follow. Then in December we have our annual trip to the Panto. This is always a great event, and while I know many youngsters will be seeing a panto as part of their school Christmas activities, the Hear Together Panto trip gives them the chance to catch up with their Hear Together buddies and at such a discounted price, this can be a real family event. And let's be honest, you can never see too many pantos! Get in touch to book places.
In my new role with Hear Together, I will be looking at the social events we offer our young people and really value your input. If you have any feedback or suggestions for future events, please don't hesitate to contact me on lisa@heartogethr.org.uk . We really value your input and want to create events that work for you!
